Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (Vuda) will examine the income generating projects. Other than completing the master plan works.
The Vuda has taken a decision in a recent meeting to give priority to the construction works of commercial complexes and amusement parks, Vuda vice-chairman P. Basanth Kumar expressed.
After issuing a statement about a proposed annual budget for 2018-19. The total receipts and expenditure were projected at Rs.965.05 crore and Rs.968.37 crore respectively for this fiscal year, while the same stood at Rs.724.44 crore and Rs. 777.43 crore in the last financial year.
A huge amount Rs.563.76 crore is proposed to be reimbursed from the government and another Rs.35.89 crore from the line departments.
With a huge budget of Rs.40 crore from the funds of fisheries department they planned to improve fishing harbor and with an expenditure of Rs.36 crore renovate Kailasagiri under AP Disaster Recovery Project.
For the construction of a flyover at NAD Junction Vuda has allocated Rs.40 crore during the financial year and for the master plan roads Rs.33 crore allotted. With an expenditure of Rs.15 crore Mudasarlova Park will be developed as international tourist destination in this fiscal.
The amount of Rs.12 crore has allocated by the urban body for Vizianagaram district to take up civil and greenery works, 5 crore for East Godavari district and Rs.10 crore for Srikakulam. For an IT park construction near Harita Housing at Madhurawada with a starting amount of Rs.10 crore as a priority project.
The amount allocated Rs.10 crore for multi-level car parking at the open space, opposite Vuda building to address the parking problems in that area.
The amount Rs.10 crore allotted for the construction of modern jogging track for 30 km, from Kailasagiri to Bheemili, and underground parking at Beach Road.
Mr. Basanth expressed they have fixed the rent for Gurajada Kalakshetram Rs.2 lakh a day for private parties and marriages, private school events and religious activities Rs.50,000 rent was fixed, and Rs.10,000 for Vuda related programmes and government school events. The rent for Vuda Children’s Arena remains to be Rs.30, 000.
The Vuda central park ticket price has been reduced from Rs.60 per person in evening to ’30 for adult and 15 for a child, at any time in the day.
