Vizag will get high-class police commissionerate complex

In the next few years if things go well as per the plan then the city police will get a new luxurious and special police commissionerate. The estimated cost for this project is Rs. 25 crores.

Depend upon sources that the new complex will come in the existing commissionerate premises or in Madhurawada. Collector Pravin Kumar was approached by police top-brass for the allotment of the land for the new building.
A senior police officer expressed If the allocation of land is difficult then the new building will be started in the commissionerate existing premises.

” By the state government, the police commissionerate was given an independent status and it would also get funds directly from the government.” said by T. Yoganand the outgoing City Police Commissioner. He also said that that they also proposed for the construction of permanent structures and renovate present police stations in the city. He also added that the identification of a suitable land for the new police commissionerate complex is going on.

Collector Pravin Kumar expressed that the revenue officials have identified 20 acres of land near Madhurawada, further we may allocate this land to city police.

On this Sunday, Mr. Yoganand inaugurated the renovated police commissionerate building which was built in 1905 during the British Era.

Mr. Yoganand also said that the renovation of this building was done by using CSR funds given by HPCL and City Special Branch Infrastructure Development of Rs 30 lakhs.

He added that the main purpose to renovate the building to hand over to the special branch police wing as they didn’t have a proper buliding and also to preserve the historical value of the structure.
