The VUDA park is a popular attraction in Visakhapatnam and a favourite amongst the tourists, which is located on the beach road, is all set to get a facelift with about Rs 33 crore. Recently, the private firm, which was endowed with the responsibility of designing of the renovation plan, has submitted their proposals and it was approved by the Greater Visakhapatnam Smart City Corporation Ltd.
The tenders of the projects are expected to be out in the next 2 days. Around 40 acres of the land in the park will be redeveloped under the project. while the Park belongs to the Vuda Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority, the GVSCCL will fund the park convergence project under the Smart City project.
GVMC highers informed that the development plans include creating multipurpose play areas, galleries for the spectators, renovation of lake boating, an amphitheatre, adventure cycling, developing walking tracks, creating islands in the lake for seasonal migratory birds, creating a 70-car parking facility and yoga space among others.
“The façade will be given a new look and the park will house a number of rare and medicinal plants to educate the public. The Andhra Pradesh Urban Greening and Beautification Corporation Ltd will also continue their assistance in landscaping and other development works. A bonsai garden will also be developed,” noted official.
The VUDA park has been serving as a great tourist attraction. The reason is a good location, the park is frequented by the city dwellers as well visitors of the city on a regular basis. Whereas the old charm of the park is intact, the facelift is expected to bring in world-class amenities to the park to attract more visitors.
