The city residents have started sweating it out with hot and humid days creating a comeback of cool and pleasant weather. Stuffy weather will adjust in a few weeks before summer is expected to begin from March 1, Regarding to highers of IMD (Indian Meteorological Department). The uncomfortable heat is attributed to the rise in humidity levels, citizens facing a lot of discomfort.
Lawson’s Bay Colony resident A Phani Kumar expressed the last few days seemed to be very hot and feel discomfort.
Regarding to CWC (Cyclone Warning Centre), Visakhapatnam, the humidity percentage in Waltair on Friday was 71% while it was 67% at the airport. The humidity percentage at par with the average levels in summer, which is nearly 75% and 68% respectively. A senior professor from the department of meteorology and oceanography Andhra University, added that the high heat index leads to excessive sweating in coastal areas.
As per the CWC’s report, Vizag city notified a maximum temperature of 30.3 degree Celsius and 71% of humidity level. The maximum temperature of 31 degree Celsius notified at Vizag airport and the humidity at 67%.
