Visakhapatnam : Low pressure to bring more rains

Hyderabad/ Visakhapatnam: Monsoon rains to pace up in Telangana in next two days under the influence of low pressure over central parts of Odisha. Heavy rains are predicted in the districts of Adilabad and Komarambheem. Light to moderate rains are likely in Karimnagar, Peddapally and Jayashankar districts on Tuesday.

The weather in Hyderabad will be cloudy with showers. The temperatures will be around 29 degrees Celsius in Hyderabad, according to weather office. During last 24 hours, Kollapur received 6 cm, Kusumanchi, Sangareddy and Kothagudem received 4 cm each. Narayankhed, Jukkal and Madhira 3 cm each.

Similarly, with the persistence of low-pressure area, heavy rains are forecast for the entire coastal Andhra Pradesh, including Rayalaseema. Collectors of coastal districts have directed tahsildars, RDOs and line departments to be alert following advice from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) that heavy to very heavy rainfall are very likely to occur at isolated places in Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram for next 24 hours.

Rains were also forecast for the Rayalaseema region. The weather office, though sounded no warning, said the rains would continue till September 1. During last 24 hours, Kurupam (Vizianagaram) received a rainfall of 16 cm, Palasa (Srikakulam) 12, Komarada, Garugubilli (both Vizianagaram) and Paderu (Visakhapatnam) 9 cm each, Seethanagaram (Vizianagaram), Pathapatnam (Srikakulam), Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram) and Tekkali (Srikakulam) 8 cm each, Vepada (Vizianagaram) and Jiyyammavalasa (Vizianagaram) 7 each, and Visakhapatnam received 3 cm rainfall. East and West Godavari and Krishna districts received 2 cm each and Rayalaseema region 1 cm.
