On Tuesday, the Vishakapatnam police started a road safety programme in the city. Called ‘Traffic Paathshala,’ especially the programme for the road users to educate on the dos and don’ts to make the city roads safer.
The initiative was launched by Mr. K Prabhakar Rao, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) in the presence of the HDFC Bank’s city cluster heads D. Gopala Krishna and K. Sarat Kumar.
A car rally was also flagged off by the ACP on the occasion.
Many groups of volunteers will be located at the city’s busy traffic junctions including schools, markets, colleges, schools. They will hold placards to motivate people to follow road safety rules Mr. K. Sarat Kumar explained.
“The road users found violating the traffic regulations will be enrolled in the ‘Traffic Paathshala’ and explained dos and don’ts of road safety such as wearing seat belts, helmets, following the lane discipline,
signals, drink driving and not using cell phones while driving,” he expressed.
