The National Institution for Transforming India (Niti) has approved 20 (ATLs) Atal Tinkering Labs for Visakhapatnam district. ATL is a workspace where young people can lend shape to their ideas through hands-on do-it-yourself kits.
Apart from private schools, the remaining schools under the initiative are government and social welfare schools. Rs. 10 lakh is A one-time establishment fund and operational expenses of Rs. 10 lakh will be provided to each of these schools for a period of five years.Atal Tinkering Labs can conduct many activities among students to create a spirit of competitiveness such as regional and national level competitions, workshops, exhibitions, lecture series etc.
The principal of Chaitanya Public School, Ukkunagaram, ENVSL Chandrika, expressed their school got one Atal Tinkering Lab.”counsellors of the scheme inspected the school to set up the ATL. As per their instructions, we have to open a bank account to get the funds.
The lab will give a chance for the children to work with and equipment and tools and equipment to understand the concepts of science and technology,” expressed Chandrika.
