The Google introduced its ‘Neighbourly App’ for the people of Vizag and four other cities, after the encouraging response to the app in Jaipur and Mumbai.
The app provides the information to users with all types of local queries related to fitness, recommendations, food, shopping, tuition centers, and other subjects. For every question, it gives on an average four relevant answers.
The dynamics of the city attracted Google’s Next Billion Users’ Team which conducted a series of studies and spoke to the smartphone users at rythu bazaars, Madhurawada, Visalakshi Nagar and Gajuwaka.
The users can ask the questions in a local language, said Group Product Manager of Google’s Next Billion Users’ Team Josh Woodward.
In Jaipur and Mumbai, We are seeing people in different age groups using the app to find answers to everyday queries about their neighbourhood. With the app, we are able to address the local information needs of India’s fast-growing internet users,” he expressed.
He expressed they were very enthusiastic and eager about the adoption and early engagement of the app and looking forward to providing a user experience to the people. The latest version of the app provides voice input, quick replies and multiple answers.
The beta version of the ‘Neighbourly App’ is available on the Google Play store. It can be downloaded to all smart phones with the versions of Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) and higher.
