The defence arm of Larsen and Toubro started multi skill training centre on Thursday as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. The center has a capacity to train 200 students to make known specialised skill sets needed for the construction of submarines and warships.
Admiral SR Sarma strated training facility, Indian Navy,Director General of Naval Project, whole-time Director and Member of the Board, Indian Navy, Admiral SR Sarma, L&T, JD Patil in the presence of Member of Board (L&T-Defence) Commodore Mukhesh Bhargava.
JD Patil expressed Indian Navy envisions self-dependent and make number of naval equipment in the country.
Vishakapatnam is self- assured to be the epi centre of the growth story in this area. It is important to move more quickly skill building to hold up present and future naval construction projects.
The L&T plan to hold up ‘Skill India’ and ‘Make-in-India’ initiatives. L&T’s multi skill training Center forward in the guidance they would supported raining to youth of this region, to increase their skill sets including women for submarine and warship construction, refits and repairs.
At the time of training period, L and T would grand a stipend, traveling and hostel facility assistance to the trainees. Other than that computer training, design software like Catia, Auto CAD etc is also added for the diploma holders.
SR Sarma DGNP Admiral expressed his wishes for this initiative taken by L and T which would achieve the huge gap in providing slandered training in this crucial segment in the region.
