The Hindustan Petroleum-run skill development institute at Arilova has started a new extension centre at Bhogapuram, Vizianagaram district for overseas job-oriented courses. Visakhapatnam MP K Hari Babu was the chief guest on the occasion and launched a canvassing van from the Arilova campus. The vehicle will be used to spread awareness in rural areas among the unemployed youth.
MP expressed “Under Prime Minister’s Skill India campaign, eight public sector oil companies under the ministry of petroleum and natural gas have started skill training institutes at six places across the country. Visakhapatnam is the biggest one handling 27 courses at its main institute and running extension centres at places like Kommadi, S Kota.
Free training programme for overseas job-oriented courses such as Fitter and Welder have been introduced, for which an MoU
has been signed with Vanitha’s skill development providers. A centre will be started at Bhogapuram, which will make available to more than 300 trainees at any point in time.
