Government sanctioned Rs.2.5 cr for gajuwaka ITI campus hostels


In Visakhapatnam at Gajuwaka, the new government ITI was allotted with Rs. 2.5 cr for the hostel facility by the state government. In addition to this ITI campus gets a trade workshop buildings, a training-cum-production center and also the main block with other buildings. At present students of ITI are staying in the nearby social welfare hostel, after the ITI was converted into a model ITI with hostel facility then students can shift from there. Rs.1.75 cr are bear by Union government where remaining was by the state government. More students may attract because of this hostel facility which is lacking for ages.

” In 12 trades the institute has 650 seats. With the aim apart from the relevant academic knowledge and skills to help students to have hands-on training and production experience, training cum production center as of proposed by us.” said by In charge principal of the ITI Shyam Sundar.

In 1980 to provide the skilled manpower to Vizag steel plant vocational training institution was sanctioned. After that industrial sector in Gajuwaka and its neighborhood was widely developed. In addition to regular courses like ITI electrician, fitter, and turner their also offering other courses like light motor and heavy motor vehicle driving courses.

The official said that” there is a heavy competition between the students for the seats in ITI institute this can be overcome with the online admission process from any region they can apply for the courses.”
