APSRTC Specials Travels Could Not Meet the Passengers Needs


During Sankranti festival the traveling by Buses or Trains became nightmare. “I want to come home for this festival but Hyderabad to Vizag trains all are full,” said A.S. Babu of Hyderabad.

The train arrivals to Visakhapatnam junction is delaying due to detention at outer signals of Duvvada, Thadi and Kancharapalem is becoming nervous to the passengers that causing by maintenance works for the last couple of weeks.

And also the Scores of passengers were seen at RTC Complex, Visakhapatnam Railway Station on Wednesday (10th Jan) as delayed. Many of passengers seems to wait at Gnanapuram-entry, Platform No.8 for the trains and the railway police asked to fill the form for facilitating smooth on train arrivals and on coaches.

RTC is charging 50% more than normal fare though specials operations.So it is difficult for passengers to get of these specials due to with in the fares and been utilize in advance through online reservation provided by RTC.

“Private bus services are charging Rs. 1,800 to Rs. 3,000 for travel between Vizag and Hyderabad” said by Chiranjeevi, who checked for reservation online and had bad experiences twice during the last Dasara holidays.

The APS RTC has operated 38 special buses, from Hyderabad to Vizag from January 4 in addition to one bus each from Bengaluru and Chennai to Visakhapatnam on January 10. These specials are in addition to the regular services operated from Vizag to Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru.

And also RTC willing to operate 30 specials from Hyderabad to Vizag and one each from Bengaluru and Chennai during the next three days.

Totally 158 special buses will be operated by APSRTC from Vizag, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Naraspur and Bhimavaram and those returning after the Pongal from January 14 to 21. 158 special buses would be to Hyderabad and 37 would be operated to Vijayawada, according to Regional Manager G. Sudesh Kumar.

In addition to these, a total of 100 specials would also be operated after the festival from the city to various towns in Srikakulam.
