The number of devotees is expected to take part in the annual ‘deepotsavam’ of Lord Ananta Padmanabha Swamy to be held at Padmnabham village in the district on Thursday.
Most of the devotees will attend from the Srikakulam, Vishakapatnam, Vizianagaram at the time of Karteeka Deepotsavam. The 600- year old – temple attracts thousands of people from surrounding places.
Trustee of the temple Poosapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju and his family members would participate in the festival, Executive Officer Nemana Lakshminarayana Sastry expressed. APSRTC would operate special buses from many places of the city, Vizianagaram, Tagarapuvalasa, Simhachalam to the temple. Parking facilities provided in the village for parking of vehicles, fire services and medical camps and 108 ambulance services would also be provided.
The deepams (earthen lamps) would be provided by the temple authorities for devotees, who light the lamps on the stairway to the hilltop.
