The revenue higher have been asked to hand over 40 acres of government land at Aganampudi, the land will be used by the Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TIDCO) for affordable residential projects.
GVMC Commissioner M. Hari Narayanan along with Metropolitan Commissioner P. Basanth Kumar and revenue officials visited the site on Friday.
Nine people were found to be in possession of a part of the 43 acres inspected on Friday. They need to be given alternative land if the entire stretch is allocated for residence. Even if the stretch is excluded, 40 acres can be utilized for the housing project,” Mr. Basanth Kumar expressed. Revenue highers need to hand over the land to the VMRDA before the TIDCO undertakes the project. Sketches demarcating boundaries need to be made for the land to be handed over to VMRDA which in turn will give it to the TIDCO.
To further advance the land-pooling exercise, the VMRDA need to examine the consent letters to ascertain the claims made by the ‘encroachers’ who are willing to part with the land and dispose of the objections filed by people who are not interested to participate until now.
As per sources the Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation has started calling for the tenders, the land required to be handover in the coming days.
