APEPDCL Contract Workers Demanding To Regularize Service


The contract employees of AP EPDCL, they have been in hunger strike for the last 10 days. They conducted a rally from the Gandhi statue near GVMC to the EPDCL Corporate Office at Seethammadhara and asking regularization of their works.

The cops prevent their disapproval by taking AITUC and CITU leaders like RKSV Kumar and Padala Ramana into the preventive and protective care. The workers, took out the rally and raised up slogans publicly declare to be wrong the showing a strong or unreasoning desire attitude of the Chandrababu Naidu government in failing to accept their demands.

The contract employees demanded with great respect the Supreme Court order on ‘equal pay for equal work’ and payment of wages on par with regular staff. The other demands contains as part of a whole payment of ex gratia to workers, who die while on the duty, the action of providing of a job to a dependent and eradication of piece rate system for electricity workers.

CPI Ch. Narasinga Rao State secretariat member and J.V. Satyanarayana CPI State assistant secretary Murthy expressed agreement of action with the striking contract workers and notify that the TDP government would be learned a lesson by the electricity employees, if it unsuccessful to implement their demands.
