In the coming summer UAE (people of the United Arab Emirates) will get great enjoyment the fruits imported from the city. Two firms have been preparing arrangements to export few varieties of fruits which are available in Vizag city like Pomegranate, apple, papaya, guava, Banganapalli mango, to the Al-Aweer market in Dubai which is the biggest provider of vegetables and fruits to the wider UAE region.
The people of the United Arab Emirates generally imports fruits from Kenya, Germany and china. With good attempts by Vizag fruit merchants, the UAE government has agreed to imports fruits from the district. A fruit exporter from Dubai told that they got permission from Dubai municipality and readiness from Al-Aweer market management to bring fruits from Vizag.
As there is air lines between vizag and Dubai, Fruit exporters are talking with Air India and IndiGo, Sri Lankan Airlines to fly the fruit packets from Vizag to Dubai around 6hours.
Fruit exporter told that Sri Lankan Airlines can transport the fruits through Colombo, for Air India it will be through Hyderabad. If the demand is high IndiGo is also willing to provide the same service. At present “we are planning to send fruits nearly 500 kgs of each variety on trial basis. While papaya, guava and mango can collect locally, pomegranate and apple will collect from Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra,” he expressed.
G Sambasiva Rao APCCIF president expressed, “we are opening all possibilities to get good business to exporters including logistic and knowledge support, so that that business will get good success. In this summer, we will export fruits successfully to Dubai.
