20 Shops Demolished In Fire Accident At Vizag Jalaripeta


A day after a fire broke out in a fishing boat at the Harbour, the other fire accident happened in Jalaripeta near the harbour on Sunday around 20 wooden shops were destroyed. Additionally no casualties have reported so far.

The fire broke out at nearly 2.30pm. All shops made with wood, it took a mere two hours before they were turned into ash. Two fire engines from Visakhapatnam Port and two from the fire services department were completed too hurriedly to the spot some residents told.

BVS Ram Prakash, the district fire officer expressed, “the reason of the fire accident is not find out until. The fishermen used those shops to store their equipment such are oils and nylon nets. We are still finding out the reason for fire accident, as the stores do not have the power connections,”

The fire might have started from an unstopped cigarette butt. The loss in the fire is to be guessed.

Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar Vizag south MLA visited the fire accident place and ensures some help to fishermen.
