Tribal Leaders, CPM Released on Bail from Central Prison

The tribal leaders and the CPM and who were arrested for links with Maoists, released on bail from the Central prison on Friday morning.

In last year October the CPM GK Veedhi leader Bakuru Koteswara Rao, Pangi Dasu, Vantala Sari, Nadela Nagulu, Vantala Sattibabu and health worker Dalai Rajubabu who arrested before were released after 108 days.

The cases against them withdrawn immediately for demanding the CPM State secretariat member Ch Narasinga Rao.

Ch Narasinga Rao said that “On October 11 last year, a cell tower was blasted at Darakonda. The police and the intelligence wings know who were behind it. But instead of arresting the real culprits, the innocent tribals were made to go round the police station in the name of investigation for 11 days before they were sent to the Central prison in the city. It has become a practice to arrest those who opposed bauxite mining in the agency and foist cases on them. Police should go by the facts and lift cases against
the innocent.”
