Visakhapatnam : Andhra Pradesh stood first among all the states and Union territories in successful implementation of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), a report released by the Union HRD ministry said.
The top grading was given based on the state’s performance and achieving the targets prescribed for the elementary education from April to September this year.
Project director, APSSA, G Srinivas said 10 parameters were considered for the grading. “These include dis playing the knowledge of students learnt in the classroom, coordination between private and government schools, providing adaptive equipment for children with special needs, distribution of uniforms, service training to teachers, displaying photos of tea cherson notice boards, etc,” Srinivas explained.
The HRD ministry launched a web portal `ShaGun’ in January to showcase innovations and progress in the elementary education sector and monitor its flagship SSA scheme.
