Over 15,000 runners are likely to participate in the fourth edition of the Vizag Navy Marathon to be held on November 12. Apart from full marathon of 42.195 km, the event will have 21 km (half marathon), 10 km and 5 km categories.
Registrations for the event are open till the month-end and those interested can register for the run at www. vizagnavymarathon.com. Navy Marathon will start from Beach Road near Viswapriya Function Hall and go all along the entire Beach Road stretch towards Bheemli.
“We are expecting a great response for this year’s marathon and have already seen registrations coming in from all sectors including corporates, educational institutions, public sector and other national and international runners,” Captain Animesh Nagar, Command – Adventure and Sports Officer, Eastern Naval Command said here at a press conference here on Wednesday.
CARE Hospitals will be conducting a free health check-up for the participants a day before the marathon on Beach Road, said Ashim Kumar, facility COO of CARE Hospitals.
Dr Muralidhar Nannapaneni, who is the race director for Hyderabad Marathon and several other marathons that he spearheads in the two states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, is going to take charge as the race director for Vizag Navy Marathon 2017.
