Vizag: Navy infra, capabilities reviewed at MYRR

Visakhapatnam : Indian Navy’s Mid-year Refit Review (MYRR) and Mid-year Infrastructure Review (MYIR) Conference was inaugurated at the Eastern Naval Command Headquarters here on Tuesday.

The two-day conference is being chaired by Vice Admiral GS Pabby, Chief of Materiel (CoM), Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy). MYRR reviews the progress of refits of ships and submarines and MYIR does the it for infrastructure projects.

The conference was attended by all stake-holders representing the Naval Headquarters, three Naval Commands, Tri-Services Command at Port Blair, Dockyards, Repair Yards and Material Organisations of the Navy.

Vice Admiral Pabby complimented the contribution of all stakeholders in refitting the ships and submarines. The conference also deliberated on some of the existing maintenance polices, refit schedules of ships and drew out a plan for infrastructure to support latest acquisitions of the Indian Navy.

He also emphasised the continual improvements in synergising the refitting and logistics functions for timely completion of refits and ensure availability of combat worthy platforms.
