Amaravati : Every family, out of six lakh poor families in rural Andhra Pradesh, should earn at least Rs 1.20 lakh per annum by March 2019, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said at a review meeting at Interim Government Complex at Amaravati in Guntur on Tuesday.
Unless income and financial growth of poor and marginal families increases, the development of the State will not take place. He directed officials concerned to search for income sources for the rural poor.
The officials informed Naidu that the government provided Rs 6,475 crore to urban poor through bank linkage between 2014 and 2017. It also provided Rs 239-crore loan without interest and another Rs 975 crore under the Pasupu-Kunkuma scheme to the urban poor during the same period, they said.
The State government provided skill development to 1,12,053 persons from 2014 to 2017. It also provided insurance to nearly 40 lakh persons under the Chandranna Bhima scheme, they said.
