1,500 policemen to stand guard during India-Australia T20 match


Adequate security arrangements are being made for the T20 match between Team India and Australia scheduled to be organised at the ACA-VDCA stadium in the city on Sunday. Tight security has been arranged at hotels where players have been given accommodation. City Police commissioner Mahesh Chandra Laddha expressed that around 1,500 police personnel will be arranged for the match.

Traffic curbs

viewers will be allowed into the stadium between 5 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. Expect for paper placards, no other materials such as luggage bags, sticks, helmets, carriage bags, plastics and etc will be allowed into the stadium. The continuous low humming sounds are also strictly prohibited. Traffic restrictions will be strictly implemented on the NH-16 and vehicles will be diverted towards the Beach Road,” he said.

Teams arrive

For the present, the teams of India and Australia arrived in the city. Indian captain Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Krunal Pandya, coach Ravi Shastri, Umesh Yadav and a few others reached by afternoon from Mumbai, while Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and others reached in the evening. A huge crowd gathered at the airport to welcome the cricketers. The Australian team also reached at 6 p.m. Team India will have a net session on Saturday morning while Australia team will practise in the evening.
